our team

The Alliance team is made up of several supporting and leadership roles, including regional co-chairs who ensure local voices guide our work throughout Alaska's diverse communities.

Regional Co-Chairs

The Alliance recognized early on that diverse voices needed to be heard and a part of our decision-making. From this, the regional co-chair position was developed. The main role of a co-chair is to serve as an advisor to The Alliance and share lived experiences and regional knowledge, while informing how our work might affect community members on a local level.

alliance Coordinator: Tesia Bobrycki (teh-sha)

Tesia is the Prevention & Education Manager for Recover Alaska and coordinator of The Alliance. Based in Cordova, Alaska, she lives aboard a 30-foot sailboat and spends much of her time navigating Prince William Sound or diving professionally. Passionate about Alaska's natural beauty, Tesia enjoys being in the woods, putting up food, and sharing meals with others.

With over a decade of experience in nonprofit program management focused on Indigenous rights, Tesia has dedicated her career to supporting grassroots initiatives and community-driven solutions. She excels at bridging statewide initiatives with individual advocacy and has recently led programs promoting ocean access and regenerative economic development, including seaweed farming throughout Prince William Sound and across Alaska.

Tesia is committed to reducing the harms of alcohol and creating meaningful change in communities across the state. Her work is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and accountability, with a focus on amplifying the impact of individuals, organizations, and statewide efforts.

Administrative Coordinator: Kara Stewart

Kara is new to the Recover Alaska team, bringing a plethora of experience in organization and administrative support. She’s especially excited to help her community thrive and heal from the harms that alcohol use brings. Kara feels The Alliance is doing good, hard work in our home to give people a safe space to exist, and she’s grateful to get to be a part of giving others the security and support that she has received.

When she’s not running around with Pepper the pup and her loving partner Christopher, she can be found baking up a storm or around the table for game nights. Having just over 50 games and counting, she finds there's never a shortage of ways to engage or seats at the table. She has the good fortune of having a large group of friends to do local craft and renaissance fairs with, usually in full pirate garb! She hopes to bring that kind of excitement and fun to her new chapter with Recover Alaska.
